Elizabeth grew up in a military family, and she spent her first 18 years all over the United States and Italy. She attended both the University of Minnesota and the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate degree in biochemistry and taught high school science courses. Elizabeth has been an editor and project manager for educational publishing firms since leaving the classroom. Outside of work, Elizabeth, husband Neil, and their young daughter Aurora enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle followed by lots of cooking and good food.
Elizabeth’s volunteer work with foster youth prompted her to get more education and eventually a Masters degree in nonprofit leadership. During this time, she came to know of Front Steps and the important work being done by the organization. “Foster youth, especially those who age out of the foster system, are far more likely to become homeless than the average person. Helping to improve the lives of people experiencing homelessness is a natural extension of helping vulnerable children.”
Elizabeth serves on the Executive Committee and chairs both the Housing Committee and the Board Development Committee.
