This year’s gala embraces the vibrant spirit of New Orleans Mardi Gras\, promising a night filled with color\, excitement\, philanthropy\, and celebration. \nAs you step into the historic Austin Club\, you’ll be transported to the heart of New Orleans. The venue will feature traditional Mardi Gras decorations in rich purples\, greens\, and golds\, capturing the essence of this iconic festival. \nThe night’s incredible music will keep the energy high and exciting. A second-line band will keep you entertained\, ensuring there’s never a dull moment. While you enjoy the company of friends and fellow supporters\, the entertainment and exquisite cuisine will be highlights of the evening\, with more in store! \nThe funds raised from this event will support our programs and help the develop of a new transitional housing community\, providing safe and stable housing options. According to the 2023 Pit Count conducted in Texas\, approximately 4\,103 veterans experienced homelessness across Texas Continuums of Care (CoCs) from January 1\, 2023\, to December 31\, 2023\, as reported by the Texas Homeless Network. In response to this pressing need\, this transitional housing community will provide essential supportive services\, including case management\, to help veterans achieve the stability needed for a brighter future. \nFront Steps has always been a dedicated ally in supporting our unhoused neighbors\, especially US veterans who may face unique challenges. We understand the importance of honoring their service and are committed to helping them overcome obstacles and find stability. In 2023 alone\, Front Steps assisted 203 veterans in transitioning into stable housing solutions. We are hosting a housewarming party to celebrate our new transitional home.\nWe are excited to announce that our first transitional house is now complete and ready to welcome its new residence! This is an incredible milestone for our organization\, and we invite you to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion. Our event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a speech from our Executive Director\, Sheila Joseph\, and a chance to meet the new home residents. After the ribbon cutting\, we’ll have small bites and refreshments that Pluckers have generously donated! A tour of the house will also be given. The event is free\, but we encourage donations when registering online or at the event. March 2nd is also Amplify Austin day and all donations made that day will be matched and made double!
