Chris Bash, Director of Philanthropy

Chris was born in Kansas City, Missouri, but got to Texas as quickly as possible at the age of one. He grew up in Burleson, Texas where his retired parents still reside. He started his career in advertising/marketing and has worked for agencies, corporations, and nonprofits—spanning over 8 different industries. Chris holds two degrees— a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and an Executive MBA, both from Texas Tech University. It was during his time earning his MBA between 2010 and 2012 when he realized the only way he would feel truly fulfilled is by blending making a living with making a difference. Since that discovery, he worked for the Texas Public Charter Schools Association as their Director of Marketing for four years. “College signing day was easily a highlight… watching so many students become the first in their families going to college. There simply wasn’t a dry eye in the place.” It was during this time when he joined the Board of Directors for the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation where he helps raise and disperse funds aimed at helping deaf students across the state. He currently serves as their Vice President. Chris founded a successful LLC in Austin in 2012 focusing on the exercise industry with over 4,000 members. He’s also a singer/songwriter, with a guitar collection that seems to only expand rather than dwindle. “I simply can’t bring myself to sell any of them… they all have their own story to tell.” Chris is a father to two elementary school kids, Graham and Ruby. When he’s not running on many of the trails around Austin, he’s shuffling them to a basketball game, gymnastics, or wherever their latest interest takes them. “They are simply the light of my life.”
