Jessie has been an advocate of compassion in her 28+ years in Austin and has broad public and private sector experience. Jessie started her career helping local disadvantaged businesses build strategies for growth then joined Cisco where she developed mergers and acquisition strategies to activate the people, culture, and technologies of the companies they acquired. She now leads an initiative at Amazon Web Services focused on helping state and local governments and nonprofits find innovative uses of technology to prevent and combat homelessness. Jessie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and serves on the Board of Directors for Seedling, a nonprofit that matches mentors with children who have an incarcerated parent. She is also a member of the Advisory Council for ECHO, Austin’s Homelessness Continuum of Care.
