Paul R. Smith
Paul R. Smith recently retired from a successful executive general management and marketing career to pursue his personal passion of helping nonprofits, with a focus on homelessness, education and children. Paul works with and advises on a pro bono basis strategic projects for various groups helping develop strategy, negotiating collaborations and accessing needed resources. Prior to beginning his current journey, Paul progressed through various executive leadership, general management and marketing positions. Paul worked as Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Officer for Owens Cornings $2+ billion Building Materials Group. He joined Owens Corning after several years in Houston and London with Royal Dutch Shell as General Manager, Global Consumer Lubricants responsible for global consumer brands such as Pennzoil, Shell and Quaker State, a business with sales over $3 billion. He also was Vice President of Marketing for the Tropicana Division of PepsiCo. He began his career with what is now Bank of America and later worked for Best Foods. Paul has served on several boards in the nonprofit sector. Paul is married to Kathryn Barrett and has two children. A graduate of Duke University and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business, Paul is a passionate Duke Basketball fan. He enjoys playing golf, history, travel and spending time with his family.
