While COVID-19 has changed some processes for Cold Weather Shelter, the City of Austin works to provide safe, warm locations to protect people experiencing homelessness from the elements when temperatures drop below freezing.

Be aware of signs of hypothermia: Shivering, Exhaustion or feeling very tired, Confusion, Fumbling hands, Memory loss, Slurred speech, Drowsiness. If you or anyone you come across exhibits these symptoms, call 9-1-1.
