On June 25, 2024, some members of our dedicated programs team Petra, Nicholas, Trina, and Lauren attended the Goodwill Central Texas WIOA Youth Resource Fair. The event, held as a lively outdoor resource fair, was a fantastic opportunity for community engagement and networking, providing a plethora of resources and fun activities for all attendees.

The resource fair brought together a variety of organizations to support the youth in our community. Various housing agencies, mental health and medical care organizations, occupational training providers, educational programs, re-entry organizations, and employment opportunities were all present, offering a wide range of services and information. Our case managers had the chance to connect with these organizations, forging valuable partnerships and gathering resources to better serve our clients at Front Steps.

One of the highlights of the event was the presence of therapy dogs from Divine Canines. These friendly and calming animals brought joy and comfort to everyone, offering a therapeutic break amidst the bustling fair activities. Petra, Nicholas, Trina, and Lauren enjoyed spending time with the therapy dogs, recognizing the importance of mental and emotional well-being in their work.

The event also featured delicious cookies from Tiff’s Food Truck, adding a sweet touch to the day. Music and fun activities created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, making the resource fair not only informative but also enjoyable. Our case managers appreciated the opportunity to engage with the community in such a positive and energetic environment.

Attending the Goodwill Central Texas WIOA Youth Resource Fair was a valuable experience for our team. It allowed Petra, Nicholas, Trina, and Lauren to expand their network, discover new resources, and gather insights to enhance their work at Front Steps. We are grateful to Goodwill Central Texas for hosting such a beneficial event and look forward to incorporating the knowledge and connections gained into our ongoing efforts to support those experiencing homelessness.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success, and a special thank you to our case managers for their continued dedication and hard work. Together, we can create pathways home and build a stronger, more supportive community.
