Check out her interview with Front Steps to find out more about her background, goals, and insights.

Personal Background

  1. Can you share a little about yourself and your professional background?

“My name is Jennifer Yeboah, and I’m originally from Ghana. Since relocating to the USA, I’ve made it my mission to become the best version of myself. I’m passionate about helping others and find fulfillment in bringing joy to the lives of those around me. Professionally, I have a strong background in Human Resource Systems, where I’ve honed my skills and expertise.”

2. What are some hobbies, interests, or activities you enjoy?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, as they’re a big part of my support system. I love exploring nature, whether it’s hiking or just going for a walk in the park, as it helps me recharge and stay grounded. I’m also passionate about volunteering and giving back to my community whenever I can. In my downtime, I enjoy reading, especially books that inspire personal growth, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

3. What inspired you to join Front Steps and take on your role as a housing case manager?

“I’ve heard great things from a current friend who works with Front Steps, and I find that we share similar values, particularly when it comes to helping those in need. I believe in making a positive impact and supporting others whenever possible, which aligns perfectly with the mission and culture Front Steps promotes.”

4. How have your personal and professional experiences shaped your approach to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness?

“This belief shapes my daily life, as I’m always aware that there is someone in need. I’ve been molded to help others regardless of the circumstances. I maintain my composure in difficult situations and stay neutral in any conflicts that may arise, ensuring I handle each situation with professionalism and understanding.”

Role-Specific

  1. What excites you most about being in this role?

“Being able to bring joy to others life. Knowing that I can be a source of help for someone in need is incredibly rewarding. I’ve always felt that this is my true calling, and I make it a priority to continuously offer a helping hand whenever possible.”

2. What’s a challenge you’ve faced in this role, and how did you work through it?

“There are times when I’m hit with a heavy workload, but I ensure that I maintain clear communication with both my clients and team lead. I prioritize a healthy work-life balance while staying organized by keeping a well-managed calendar to stay on top of everything.”

3. Can you share a memorable success story or moment that captures the impact of your work?

“I’ve had many memorable moments, but one that stands out is when a client was able to secure housing and a job. Today, he’s able to pay half of his rent. He thanked me for not giving up on him and for the support I provided, and that moment really highlighted the impact of the work I do. Knowing that my efforts directly contributed to changing their lives for the better was a powerful reminder of why I do this work. It’s moments like these that inspire me to continue making a positive impact every day.”

I believe that making a positive impact doesn’t just happen through the work we do, but also in the everyday moments and small actions that show we care. I’m always looking for ways to grow, both personally and professionally, and I’m excited to continue learning and contributing to the mission at Front Steps. Every day presents an opportunity to make a difference, and I’m grateful to be a part of this work.”
