Do you love food, people, and making a difference? Join your local community members every Saturday as they prepare and deliver delicious meals for those experiencing homelessness and low-income neighbors in our community. Enjoy a hot plate of food yourself and the company of some amazing volunteers.
Event Details:
- Date: Every Saturday until January 11, 2025
- Afternoon Shift: Starts at 2:30 PM (packing meals for delivery)
- Morning Shift: Starts at 11:15 AM (cutting & cooking)
- Location: La Reunion Co-op Kitchen, 7910 Gault St, Austin, TX
Volunteer Activities:
- Cleaning: Dishes, tables, floors, trash.
- Packing: Putting food into containers (like a Tetris game!).
- Delivering: Bringing food to the hungry (feel free to sing along the way).
Additional Information:
- No signups, skills, or requirements needed—just a willingness to help.
- Children are welcome, as long as they are aware of kitchen dangers (sharp knives, hot stoves, etc).
- Typical volunteer attendance is 6-10 people every week.
- Feel free to come and go as you please between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM.
Directions and Parking:
- La Reunion Co-op Kitchen is door #106, left of the laundry.
- A 20-minute walk from N. Lamar Transit Center.
- Street parking and lot parking available.
