We are thrilled to introduce the newest members of the Front Steps Board of Directors: Mu’minah Abdullah, Joshua Edwards, Katie Struth, Gayle Hutchings, and Veronica Sierra. Each of these outstanding individuals brings a wealth of expertise, experience, and a deep commitment to our mission of providing a pathway home for those experiencing homelessness in Austin, Texas.
Mu’minah Abdullah
Mu’minah Abdullah joins us from Hancock Whitney, bringing a robust community service and nonprofit management background. Her extensive experience in social services and advocacy will be invaluable as we continue to expand our outreach and support services. Mu’minah’s passion for helping vulnerable populations aligns perfectly with our mission, and we are excited to leverage her insights to enhance our programs.
Joshua Edwards
From University Federal Credit Union, Joshua Edwards brings a wealth of knowledge in financial management and strategic planning. With a successful career in the corporate sector, Joshua’s expertise will help us streamline our financial processes and ensure sustainable growth. His dedication to community service and strategic vision will be critical in guiding Front Steps toward achieving our long-term goals.
Katie Struth
Katie Struth, representing the National Wildlife Federation, has immense experience managing large-scale programming and development. Her advocacy for those in her community will greatly benefit our efforts to provide comprehensive support to our clients. Katie’s strategic approach and commitment to improving underserved communities’ outcomes make her a valuable addition to our board.
Gayle Hutchings
Gayle Hutchings comes to us from Austin Energy, bringing decades of experience in education and community development. Her work in creating educational programs and her dedication to youth development will enhance our initiatives to empower individuals through education and skill-building. Gayle’s innovative ideas and commitment to fostering community resilience will be instrumental in advancing our mission.
Veronica Sierra
Veronica Sierra, currently the office manager at Front Steps, brings extensive experience in her work with marginalized communities and her ongoing commitment to creating pathways home for those in our community experiencing homelessness, which make her an excellent fit for our board. Her legal expertise and passion for social justice will strengthen our advocacy efforts and help us navigate the complex legal landscape of housing and homelessness. Veronica’s strategic thinking and dedication to equitable solutions will be vital as we work towards systemic change.
